Python Job Details

By combining advanced sensing and data science with autonomous flight, Verity's industrial drone systems improve productivity and generate actionable insights in our clients' commercial facilities. As a computer vision engineer, you will provide the foundation of those insights by making sense of various types of 2D and 3D imagery. You will leverage Verity's ability to deploy vision sensors anytime, anywhere using autonomous drone fleets. This role spans from evaluating the feasibility of extracting various types of information from imagery, over developing computer vision algorithms, to optimizing image acquisition performance.

The global leader in autonomous indoor drone systems, Verity enables zero-error warehousing for big box retailers, third-party logistics providers, and manufacturers, with our integrated inventory tracking system. Verity counts 3PL giant DSV and IKEA among their current client base. Our live events solutions help create stunning effects for top names in the entertainment industry like Drake, Céline Dion, Metallica, and Cirque du Soleil. We continuously reach beyond existing limitations to rethink, reimagine, and rework the role of robotics in the world today.

Come help us break new boundaries for drone systems and technologies!

What you'll do

  • Develop and implement computer vision algorithms that use 2D and 3D imagery captured by our drones to generate insights in commercial environments
  • Systematically analyze the performance of vision algorithms to guide improvement efforts
  • Develop adaptation and learning algorithms that continuously improve vision pipelines based on the data collected by the drones
  • Advise on the feasibility of extracting specific types of information from vision data through first-principle analysis, rapid prototyping, and real-world experience
  • Design image acquisition strategies that leverage the flexibility of flying sensors to collect relevant data
  • Contribute to the selection, evaluation, and validation of camera system components
  • Guide and mentor colleagues working on different aspects of the insight generation for our clients

What you bring

  • Proven track record in the development of real-world computer vision algorithms with at least 3 years of experience in industry or academia
  • Strong programming experience, preferably including C++ and Python
  • Good knowledge of software engineering principles
  • Experience with photogrammetry, structure from motion, and/or point cloud processing is a plus
  • Experience with computational photography is a plus
  • Experience with machine learning for vision applications is a plus
  • University degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields
  • Good written and spoken English language skills
